What to Expect

Welcome to Grace Church

Here are some things you can expect when you are new to Grace Church:

Parking Lot

You will be warmly welcomed in the parking lot and assisted if you need help finding a spot to park. There is parking on all sides of our building and then on the street if necessary. If parking on the street be sure park with the flow of traffic or the city will give you ticket if parked the wrong direction. There is handicap parking near the front door. If you need assistance you exit your car near the door and we will park it for you. Lock and secure your car.

Inside

When you come through the door, one of our greeters will meet you and offer you a refreshment. We usually have water, coffee, milk and juice, as well as a pastry or fruit. You will also be given the sermon notes for the service that morning, which will also include a short list of announcements and events. This little bulletin also includes an order of our service, so you will know what to expect during your stay.

Have children?

We love children at Grace Church! We have a wonderful children’s leader. Her name is Tina Sielbeck. She has three grown children and three grandchildren. Her oldest granddaughter (who is 18) often assists her with the kids. Other helpers help out on a rotating basis. All children workers and helpers have had background checks. In the very near future we will also install video surveillance for the safety of our children and workers. Kids and workers attend the beginning portion of the service and then go to their classroom for their teaching time. This happens at the end of the music and before the message for the adults. A slide on the screen will instruct you this will happen. You can easily retrieve your child/children at the end of the service. Please take a tour of our children's area you will find it clean and up to date.

Worship Style

The main service is causal. The pastor likes to say, “Suit and tie not recommended”. Our pastor is normally dressed in jeans and sneakers with a button up shirt. The music is a mix of both hymns and contemporary, sang in a “karaoke” style. Pastor Chris preaches messages that are practical (meaning you can apply and use them right away, in real life) and they are Biblically-based, not pop psychology. You will have message notes in your hand and the Biblical passages and sermon points are also displayed on a large projection screen. Did you miss a point? We have that covered! Right here, you can watch the message from anywhere on the planet! We also broadcast Live on Facebook. Join the Facebook group Grace Church at Home to catch the livestream and other messages.

Thank you for considering Grace Church. We truly are a Church of Second Chances.

P.S. We have just moved to a new location and it has been a true gift from the Lord. We are very excited about where the Lord is taking us. We had our first service on June 6 2021 and we are still working out some the kinks. The new address is 102 E 20th St Metropolis.
